Some of the gardens I've worked on
I oversaw the renovation and maintenance of the walled garden section of Hare Hill 2019-2022. With teams of volunteers, we introduced large sections of new planting, divided and transplanted selected perennials alongside a pruning and lawn care regime. We stuck to the vision of predominantly white flowering plants, planted in pairs or symterically, kept this way as a memorial from Charles Brocklehurst to his twin brother Patrick.
Border renovations and maintenance - Hare Hill National Trust Garden
Kitchen garden renovation - private garden in Cheshire
The brief for the kitchen garden was to improve the existing soil quality and create a mixture of vegetable production, cut flowers and perennial ornamental flowering beds. The are had been neglected for some time with challenging weeds, poor soil and overgrown climbing plants.
Lawn improvement - private garden in Cheshire
The lawn was brown and patchy due to nutrient deficiency, bare patches and water stress when cut very low in drought conditions. I undertook a regular regime of scarification, feeding and reseeding.
Orchard and meadow planting - private garden in Cheshire
Design and implementation of an orchard and cornfield meadow scheme on a challenging sandy/rocky site. Using 50-250 litre pots for an instant impact as requested by the client.
